Games of Thrones Season 8: The Facts

If you’ve been following the highs and lows for the last seven seasons, the news that Game of Thrones is about to finish is bittersweet. On one hand we’ll all finally discover who will emerge victorious but on the other, we’ll be weeping into our TVs as we lament the lack of future episodes. But without further ado we present Game of Thrones Season 8: The Facts.

The last season will air in April 2019 - but will be shorter

You won’t have to wait too long to get your final GOT fix as HBO have confirmed Season 8 will air in April 2019. However, unlike previous series it will have just six episodes to bring it to the climax. But don’t worry about being short-changed; there have been some heavy hints that these final episodes will be much longer. Expect feature-length episodes each and every time and you won’t be disappointed.

Actor Kit Harington cried - twice - on reading the finale

Actor Kit Harington aka heartthrob Jon Snow didn’t read the script in advance, preferring instead to find out his character’s fate at a group reading with his fellow cast members. On discovering what lay in store for the finale, Harington broke down into tears, not once but twice. Gulp. Tissues at the ready then…!

There might be a spin-off

Although the writers have been insistent that nothing will detract from the GOT finale, there’s already talk of a potential spin-off series. The exact content has yet to be decided but don’t expect the exact same characters to appear. With hundreds of thousands of inhabitants in the world, it’ll be time for new faces to take the lead.

If you can’t wait until April for a bit of action and adventure, head over to www.lumatch.com where you’ll find lots of exciting titles. An online library full of the best books, you’ll have plenty to keep you occupied until it’s time for the new series to air.
